Two-Vehicle Collision In McHenry County
There was a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon (August 22, 2016) on Route 176 and Briarwood Road in Crystal Lake.
Details on the accident were initially limited. However, details regarding the accident were later disclosed. An excerpt from the August 31, 2016 Northwest Herald article titled “Man cited in crash that injured mother, special education teacher“:
About 4 p.m. Aug. 22, a 1990 GMC semitruck with a fully loaded trailer was traveling west on Route 176 approaching Briarwood Road when it struck a 2013 Ford Escape stopped and facing south on Briarwood Road, Crystal Lake Police Deputy Chief Tom Kotlowski said.
The driver of the truck, 25-year-old Robert Anthony, told police he attempted to stop while the light was turning from green to yellow, but could not, Kotlowski said.
The driver of the SUV, Kathy Jones, 53, was flown from the accident scene. She had a traumatic brain injury.
The truck driver was not injured during the accident.
