A motorcycle crash near McHenry has left the motorcyclist and passenger in critical condition. This motorcycle crash near McHenry involved the motorcycle leaving the roadway. This incident occurred along South Justen Road (in the 2600 block) in unincorporated McHenry. First responders began to go to the accident scene at approximately 6:06 p.m.

A preliminary investigation showed that a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 56-year-old McHenry man, was traveling northbound on Justen Road.

For unknown reasons, the man failed to navigate the curve in the road, resulting in the motorcycle leaving the roadway and crashing, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

The 56-year-old man and a 50-year-old Wonder Lake woman, who was riding as a passenger, were both ejected from the motorcycle.

Both victims were transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry.

Both the motorcyclist and passenger were subsequently transferred to other hospitals. Both were in critical condition.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, at the time of the crash neither the motorcyclist or passenger were wearing a motorcycle helmet.

This motorcycle crash near McHenry remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Traffic Crash Investigation Unit.
