There was a “hit & run” pedestrian accident early Sunday morning (July 9, 2017) in unincorporated McHenry.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened in the 3000 block of Lincoln Road, as a southbound Chevrolet Malibu struck a man who was near the edge of the roadway.  The accident happened at approximately 2:23 a.m.

The pedestrian, identified only as a 48-year-old man from Woodstock, was first taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry, then flown to Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for treatment of his accident injuries.  He was said to be in critical but “stable” condition.

The driver of the Malibu, 22-year-old Alexsandro J. Tackett, left the scene and was found by sheriff’s deputies elsewhere in McHenry, according to the sheriff’s office. He was not injured in the crash.

Tackett, of Wonder Lake, was charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident and failure to report an injury accident, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident On Route 14 In Woodstock, Illinois

Fatal Pedestrian Crash In McHenry County

There was a fatal pedestrian accident Thursday night (March 30, 2017) on Route 14 in Woodstock.

Details on the accident appear to be limited at this time.  A crash investigation into the accident and its causes continues.

According to preliminary information provided by the Woodstock Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Route 14 and Lake Shore Drive.  Police responded to the accident scene at approximately 9:48 p.m.

The accident involved a man, identified as Daniel P. Anderson, 43, of Woodstock, being struck by a vehicle.

Anderson was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, where he was pronounced dead.

Immediately before the report of the crash, the police department had received another report of a person who matched Anderson’s description walking east in the middle of the westbound lane of traffic on Route 14, officials said.

Witnesses described the vehicle that struck the man as a medium to dark colored truck — possibly a pickup — with a possible lighting system on the roof. The truck didn’t stop and continued west on Route 14 toward Route 47.

An autopsy on Friday revealed Anderson died from blunt trauma to his head and abdomen, according to a news release.

Hit & Run Accident Injures Girl In Woodstock

McHenry County Hit & Run Pedestrian Accident

There was a hit & run accident involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Wednesday evening, March 9, 2016.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened at approximately 7:00 p.m. as a juvenile girl was walking along Perkins Road near Gee Road.  At that time, the girl was struck by an eastbound car which then fled the accident scene.

The girl was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock for treatment of her accident injuries, which were considered to be “minor” in nature.

There was a McHenry County hit & run accident Sunday (December 21, 2014) in Lake in the Hills.

According to Lake in the Hills Police, the accident happened on Randall Road between Village Drive and Miller Road.  The crash appeared to have occurred when a large SUV changed lanes and struck a vehicle.  That vehicle then lost control and hit another vehicle.

The SUV left the accident scene.

There were no accident injuries, but heavy damage to the third vehicle involved in the crash.

Lake in the Hills Police say that the SUV may have been a Ford Expedition or other large SUV, green or black, and it likely has damage to its front, probably on the passenger side.  Should you see such a vehicle, please call the Lake in the Hills Police Department at 847-658-5676.

Hit & Run Accident In McHenry County, Illinois

There was a hit & run accident on Friday night (May 16, 2014) in Lake in the Hills, Illinois.

The accident happened in a parking lot of the AMC Theater, just before 9:00 p.m.

According to Lake in the Hills Police, this hit & run happened as a 4-year-old boy was crossing one of the lanes of traffic with a parent, at which point the boy was hit by a car.  

The boy, said to be from Algonquin, was treated at the accident scene by paramedics.
