Motorcycle Collision In McHenry County
There was a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon (September 11, 2016) in unincorporated Nunda Township (McHenry County.)
According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, in a September 12, 2016 media release titled “Sheriff’s Office Investigates Serious Injury Motorcycle Crash,” a preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle accident involved a “side swipe” crash involving two motorcycles. The crash happened as two Harley-Davidson motorcycles were southbound on Roberts Road, south of Lamphere Road.
During the accident, both motorcycles lost control and overturned. One of the motorcyclists, age 45 and from Wood Dale, was found unresponsive at the accident scene, and he was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center for treatment of his accident injuries, which were considered to be life-threatening in nature.
The other motorcyclist, identified as a 64-year-old man from Des Plaines, was treated at the accident scene.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Traffic Crash Investigations Unit. Members of the Island Lake and Tower Lakes Police Departments assisted with traffic control.
