Two People Hurt During McHenry County Vehicle Crash

Two Car Collision In McHenry County

There was a two-car collision yesterday (April 5, 2015) in unincorporated Hartland Township.

According to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, the accident involved a collision between a Chevy S-10 and Grand Caravan at approximately 3:35 p.m.

An excerpt from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office media release of April 6, 2015, titled “Sheriff’s Office Investigates A Two Vehicle Injury Traffic Crash“:

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2000 Chevrolet S-10 was traveling westbound on Dunham Road, when a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling northbound on Menge Road and failed to stop for the posted stop sign at this intersection. The front end of the Chevrolet hit the right side of the Dodge causing the units to exit the roadway to the northwest. The Dodge struck several trees and rolled onto its right side.

The driver of the Dodge was identified as Pedro Guerrero-Hernandez, 37, of Harvard.  He was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock for treatment of accident injuries.

The driver of the Chevy, a 17-year-old male from Wauconda, was flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the accident and no citations have been issued as of Monday afternoon.
