McHenry County Pedestrian Accident

There was a pedestrian accident Thursday afternoon (January 29, 2015) in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

According to Crystal Lake Police, the accident happened at approximately 1:30 p.m.  A car was heading southeast on Gates Street, and struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian was identified as Andrea M. Berthoud, 39, of Crystal Lake.  She was first taken to Centegra Hospital in McHenry for treatment of accident injuries, and then airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.  She is reported to be in stable condition, with injuries including a broken leg.

The car was driven by  Joseph W. Beatty, 36, of Crystal Lake.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident In Normal, Illinois

A student from Crystal Lake has recently been involved in a pedestrian accident, and has died from his accident injuries.

The accident happened on Saturday morning (January 24, 2015) in Normal, Illinois.

The pedestrian, Benjamin Allison of Crystal Lake, was walking across an intersection when he was hit by a vehicle.  The accident was a hit & run accident.  Allison was near the campus of Illinois State University (ISU).

The alleged driver of the vehicle has been identified as Joshua M. Dunn, 21.

Man Flown To Hospital Following McHenry County Crash

Single-Vehicle Crash In McHenry County

There was a single-vehicle McHenry County crash Monday (January 19, 2015) in unincorporated Coral Township.

According to a media release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, titled “Sheriff’s Office Investigates A One Vehicle Traffic Crash,” the crash happened at approximately 9:49 a.m., and happened when a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo was traveling southbound on Stacy Lane.  At that time, for reasons currently unknown, the Jeep went off the road and hit two trees.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as Trevor J. Alwin, 22, of Union, was flown to Advocate Condell Medical Center.

I-90 “Chain-Reaction” Crash Near Huntley

Multi-Vehicle Accident Near Huntley

There was a multi-car accident on I-90 near Huntley on Friday morning (January 9, 2015) which started when two semis “jackknifed.”  The Illinois State Police (ISP) says that at least ten vehicles were involved in the subsequent “chain reaction” accident.

The accident happened during “slick” road conditions caused by cold temperatures – in the single digits – and blowing snow.

According to the ISP, the accident happened at approximately 7:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Illinois Route 47.

After the trucks jackknifed, “10 to 12 other accidents and incidents’’ happened, with motorists hitting walls, driving into ditches and spinning out, said Carlos.
