Car Crashes Into Bank In Lake in the Hills

There was a car accident in Lake in the Hills Tuesday (December 23, 2014) in which a car crashed into a bank.  One bank employee was injured because of the car accident.

According to police, the accident happened as the driver accidentally hit the car’s accelerator instead of the brake.  The car hit the bank, pushing a window into the bank and hitting the desk that an employee was sitting at.

Glenice Higgens, 85, was trying to park at the branch, at 310 N. Randall Road, when she mistakenly hit the wrong pedal, Sgt. Mark Smith said. The car hit the branch, pushing a window about two feet into the building.

The bank employee,  Sarah Nelson, was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin for treatment of accident injuries, which included minor back pain.

McHenry County Hit & Run Accident

There was a McHenry County hit & run accident Sunday (December 21, 2014) in Lake in the Hills.

According to Lake in the Hills Police, the accident happened on Randall Road between Village Drive and Miller Road.  The crash appeared to have occurred when a large SUV changed lanes and struck a vehicle.  That vehicle then lost control and hit another vehicle.

The SUV left the accident scene.

There were no accident injuries, but heavy damage to the third vehicle involved in the crash.

Lake in the Hills Police say that the SUV may have been a Ford Expedition or other large SUV, green or black, and it likely has damage to its front, probably on the passenger side.  Should you see such a vehicle, please call the Lake in the Hills Police Department at 847-658-5676.

This accident involved a driver whose car left the roadway and hit some trees.  Fog conditions may have played a role in the accident.

McHenry County Accident Injures Two People

There was a McHenry County crash Monday morning (December 1, 2014) near Route 14 and Tartan Drive in Crystal Lake.  This location is near McHenry County College.

According to news reports, two people were treated for minor accident injuries, and neither person needed to be taken to a hospital.

This accident happened at 6:20 a.m.
