There was a four-vehicle accident on Route 14 in Crystal Lake Tuesday (October 28, 2014) in which one person was injured.

Emergency responders arrived at the accident scene at approximately 1:00 p.m.  According to Crystal Lake Police, the accident happened as Mary Beyer, 81, was attempting to exit a private drive on the west side of Route 14.  In doing so, her vehicle struck two vehicles, traveled a short distance, and hit another vehicle.

Beyer was injured and taken to Centegra Hospital in McHenry.

Driver Dies Following McHenry County Car Accident

There was a fatal McHenry County car accident Sunday afternoon (October 19, 2014) in Bull Valley, Illinois.

According to police, the crash happened in the 300 block of Ridge Road.  A car, a 1997 Honda sedan, was found at the scene.  The driver found in the car was identified as Aaron D. Sutherland, 22, of Wonder Lake.  According to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, he was declared dead at the accident scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the 1997 Honda sedan driven by Sutherland was traveling at a high rate of speed on Ridge Road just south of Swarthmore, police said.

There was a fatal McHenry County rollover car accident Saturday (October 18, 2014) in Lakewood.

The crash happened at shortly before 4:00 p.m., when a “head-on collision” happened at the intersection of Routes 47 and Route 176.

The driver of one of the cars, identified as Jacquelyn Paulson, 19, of Crystal Lake, later died from injuries sustained in the accident.

Shortly after 4 p.m. Paulson was driving a Chevrolet northbound on Route 47 when she jumped the median and her car struck a southbound Acura SUV with two passengers, Lakewood Police Chief Leigh Rawson said. The Chevrolet driven by Paulson then rolled over before catching fire.

Paulson was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock, where she was later pronounced dead.

Two passengers in the Acura SUV were also taken to Centegra, and said to be in stable condition.

A motorcyclist has died two weeks after he was injured in a motorcycle accident in Algonquin, Illinois.

The motorcycle accident happened on September 22, 2014, near the intersection of Milbrook Drive and Corporate Parkway.

The motorcyclist was identified as David Leonard, 30, of Gilberts.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, Leonard was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for treatment of his injuries where he died Sunday (October 5, 2014.)

There was a fatal McHenry County motorcycle accident Tuesday evening (September 30, 2014) in Woodstock, Illinois.

According to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, this motorcycle accident happened as a motorcyclist was heading south on Doty Road, at which point the motorcycle traveled into the northbound lane and struck a car.

The motorcyclist, identified as Barry T. Rataiczyk, 44, of Crystal Lake, was taken to Centegra Woodstock Hospital for his injuries.  He was pronounced dead at 7:16 p.m.
