McHenry County Bicycle Accident

There was a McHenry County bicycle accident on Wednesday (July 30, 2014) in which a bicyclist was struck by a car in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

This bicycle accident happened at approximately 5:00 p.m., at the intersection of Heaven’s Gate and Miller Road.

According to Crystal Lake Police, the accident happened as a man driving a Chevy Trailblazer SUV was heading west on Miller Road and attempted to turn left onto Heaven’s Gate.  In doing so, he struck the bicyclist, who was heading east on Miller Road.

The bicyclist was identified as Kevin R. Young, 28, of Arlington Heights.  He was taken by an Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Rescue ambulance to Sherman Hospital in Elgin.  His injuries, although believed to be serious, were not considered to be life-threatening.

There was a McHenry County car accident in Crystal Lake, Illinois at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday (July 23, 2014) night.

The accident involved a woman, Beverly Larson, 70, of Crystal Lake, who drove her SUV into the backyard of her neighbor’s house, at which time the SUV rolled over after hitting a tree and struck the back of the neighbor’s house.

Larson was taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock with a minor injury.

There was a fatal McHenry County motorcycle accident Sunday (July 20, 2014) in Spring Grove, Illinois.

The accident happened at approximately 9:27 a.m. as a motorcyclist was traveling west behind a minivan on Route 173 at Winn Road.  The Spring Grove and Richmond fire departments were dispatched at approximately 9:28 a.m

An excerpt from the Huntley Patch article of July 20, 2014, titled “Motorcyclist Killed in McHenry Co. Crash” :

In an attempt to avoid a rear end collision, the motorcyclist drove into oncoming lane of traffic, “laid his bike down on its side” and was struck by the rear tire of the minivan, which was making a left turn at the intersection, according to a McHenry County Coroner’s Office press release.

The motorcyclist, identified as David M. Stoll, 65, of Fox Lake, was taken to Centegra Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

This Illinois motorcycle accident remains under investigation by the Spring Grove Police Department.

Crystal Lake Vehicle Accident Injures Three People

There was a rollover crash Saturday morning (July 19, 2014) in Crystal Lake.  The accident involved two vehicles and three people were injured.

According to the Crystal Lake Police Department, the accident happened at approximately 10:10 a.m. on Route 176 near North Virginia Street.

The accident involved a Chevy Blazer, which had exited a private drive onto Route 176, being hit by a Chevy pickup truck.  During the collision, in which the Blazer was struck on the driver’s side door, the Blazer rolled over onto its side.

The driver of the Blazer, was identified as Zandra Iandola, 20, of McHenry.  The passenger in the Blazer was identified as Kayla Brehmer, 23, of McHenry.  Both were taken to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock with injuries considered to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as Donald Mecko, 73, of Palatine.  He was also taken to Centegra with non-life-threatening injuries.

There was a McHenry County two-vehicle accident this morning in Woodstock, Illinois at the intersection of Route 176 and Route 47.  Emergency responders were alerted at approximately 8:40 a.m.

Details on this accident – and particularly its causes – appear limited at this time.

This accident included a car rollover, in which the driver of the car, Tyler Husch, 18, of Lake in the Hills, apparently was not injured.

However, the motorist in the other vehicle suffered injuries and was considered to be in critical condition when taken to a hospital.
